Edward Norton has become a household name ever since his appearance in 1996's Primal Fear, and what a great breakthrough role that was! His part in that film earned him an Academy Award nomination for best-supporting actor, and since then, Norton has gone on to star in some of the most memorable films of the past 15 years. He's also received an Academy Award nomination for best leading-actor, but since he hasn't won an Oscar yet, he'll have to keep appearing in great films to win one in the future. If you aren't familiar with his films, search for one of the great movies listed below on your satellite TV listings.

Norton is best known, perhaps, for his leading role in 1999's Fight Club. Norton narrates the film, which was also nominated for, but didn't win, an Oscar. Norton's character suffers from insomnia so he starts going to support groups to gain perspective on what real pain, which enables him to release his emotions and sleep. While on a business trip, Norton befriends a soap salesman (played by Brad Pitt), who lets Norton move in with him after Norton returns from the trip and finds his apartment was destroyed by some kind of explosion. Norton can only move in with the salesman if he agrees to punch him in the face, and the two men enjoy hitting each other so much that they form a Fight Club. The club quickly becomes popular with men all over the city, and the concept spreads all over the country. As Norton's character travels for business, he gets mistaken for Pitt's character and things start to get weird. It quickly becomes clear that things aren't the way they seem on the surface, but you'll have to watch the film in high definition on your satellite TV to find out what happens in the end.

2006's The Illusionist, is another great film with an exciting twist near the end. In the film, Norton stars as a magician who comes from a working-class background but who falls in love with royalty at a very young age. Norton's character leaves the town as a young man on a quest to become a master magician and forget about his unpermitted love. As an adult, he returns and gives sold-out performances that impress his love, a Duchess, and her fiancee a Prince. However, the Prince is evil and is suspected of having killed other potential wives in the past. So the Duchess is not really interested in marrying him and she still loves Norton's character, even though she knows she is unable to be with him. Besides the social pressure to marry within her class, the Duchess believes the Prince would kill her and Norton if he found out about their love for one another. The two lovers struggle to find a way to be together, but all seems lost when the Duchess is apparently killed by the Prince. To find out what happens in the end, you'll have to search your satellite TV listings to find this great romantic, suspenseful, and fantasy film.
