In one memorable scene, the girls in the toxic group of four chit-chat the night away, calling each other through an elaborate series of secret conference calls so that they can hear what the other girls have to say about them. While the movie’s central clique seems crazily manipulative and absurd, there are probably a few teenage girls who might recognize themselves in this kind of behavior. 2. The Ring

They will literally spend hours just sitting and listening to phone 10-second, heavily coded phone calls between drug dealers and shipping thieves.

4. Pillow Talk

This 1959 classic movie starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day is about party telephone lines – when people used to have to share one connection between apartments or between houses. It is one of the original "battle of the sexes" romantic comedies of the day, when the genre was at its peak.
