With DVR it's never been easier to catch all your favorite television programs without missing a single episode. In fact, the average DVR device is so smart is can be programmed to record all your favorite programs, so all the guess work is taken out of never missing an important show again. Better yet, now the truest kind of television remote control is finally available to the viewing public. As long as DVR subscribers are connected to the internet, they can tweak, change and perfect their DVR's recording line up for the day, for the week, for the month, or for as long as they like! This is a great feature for those who suddenly remember there's a special on tonight they meant to record, or for those who feel like watching a movie when they get home. With just a few clicks of the mouse anyone can scan all the top TV stations and pick just the thing they'd like to watch on TV tonight.
The presupposition, however, is that everyone has constant internet access. Some people, however, aren't quite so lucky and running off to the nearest internet café, Wi-Fi hotspot or desktop computer might take longer than just heading home and hitting record. Many people work or study connected to their computers, and as technology continues to improve this number is likely to grow. However, what about the rest of us? What about people that have their laptops on campus during the day? Or people that work as freelance journalists or photographers that may be a ways away from the nearest Wi-Fi connection? What about parents or nannies that have to go with the flow, and can't always take time out to hunt down internet access? For these people there is finally a solution in WiMax internet.
A truly wireless internet service, those with Wimax are subscribing to a new generation of internet technology. Literally known as 4G, or fourth generation, internet technology, it is designed to replace and supersede the role of 3G internet technologies. Most of us have used, or are at least aware of 3G technology. While convenient, it is not a fully mobile broadband connection like the one available from the fourth generation. This means getting online, to whatever webpage, and uploading, transferring, send and downloading files with ease at the broadband speeds enjoyed from your home PC. This means that the student can not only check TV schedules, but send his thesis to a professor all while sunning in the campus quad. This means the freelance journalist or photographer can send along rough drafts, and/or photographs right from her location to get instant feedback and approval. Parents can stay connected with the working world while traipsing around town with children, no matter where ballet practice, soccer practice, cub scouts, or band practice takes them.
When it comes to broadband on the go, of course setting up one's television viewing schedule isn't the most impactful feature of mobile WiMax internet. It is however, one of the most enjoyable!
