There is no such thing as a product that everyone likes. No matter how much you like something, there's always going to be someone else out there who will feel the exact opposite about it. That's just the way it is, and this applies even to potential internet connectivity solutions. Although 4G internet might seem like it would be a good choice for most people, there are some that might not want to sign up for it. After you weigh the various facts about it you might decide against it, but chances are that you're going to want to sign up as soon as possible.
One of the first things you should consider is whether or not the service is even available in your area. After all, there would be no point in debating the merits of a connection if you can't even sign up for it. That's why it's important to search online for a coverage map of your area. Although 4G has expanded quite a bit lately, there is the possibility that it's not yet available in your area. A coverage map will tell you if it is and how good the signal would be for you.
The next thing you should consider is whether or not you're happy with your current provider. Most people are signed up for cable or DSL and they may be perfectly content with their plan, which usually includes either cable TV or phone line service in addition to their internet connection. Other people won't be so satisfied though. A common theme that comes up time and time again is that some customers don't want to pay for additional services anymore. Perhaps they get their entertainment on the web and use Skype, Google Voice, MagicJack or some other VOIP service for telephone service. In other words, they have no need for cable TV or a regular land line. Unfortunately, you might have to pay more for internet if you cancel any of your additional services. You won't have to bother with any of that if you switch over to 4G internet.
The obvious thing to consider is whether or not you want to start using the internet in a mobile capacity. Since your new connection would be based on cellular technology, you could access the internet all over your city, even while in the back of a car, bus or taxi. Although that kind of versatility does impress most people, it may not impress you. If you think that you would end up using the internet only at home, there would be no reason for you to get a 4G connection.
Finally there is the issue of speed. Surprising to most people, the latest in cellular connectivity can actually keep pace and sometimes even surpass the kind of speeds that cable and DSL offer. In other words, you may very well be getting an upgrade by making the switch. The only way to know for sure though is to see how fast your current connection is and compare it to how fast your new one would be.
Only you can know if 4G is right for you. Even though it's hard to imagine why anyone wouldn't want a fast, affordable, and versatile connection, those people are out there. Most likely though, some aspect of the service appeals to you and you should therefore consider signing up.
